Occasionally, Neurons Flicker

So, today is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  It was actually a little odd going to Mass this morning.  Despite the fact that I usually go to morning Mass, I have been pretty sick lately and haven’t made morning Mass in quite some time.  When I got to church, it was a little surreal — like I had been gone for years.  I think I had forgotten the words to the Gloria and the Creed.  That said, it was a beautiful Mass, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.  Thank you, Fr. Lee!  :)

This was part of the first reading:

“Its tail swept away a third of the stars in the sky
and hurled them down to the earth.”

And, while I really don’t get most of Revelation, for a moment, neurons fired and I had this thought.  ‘Hmm.  Maybe this refers to the Church Militant, here on earth, since the Church Suffering and the Church Triumphant would be up there in Heaven and Purgatory.’

Interesting thought, eh?  Well, it’s the best I can do this morning.  Enjoy!  :)

What a great point! I had never thought of it that way, but it’s a fantastic visual.

I have to agree, the Mass of Assumption was beautiful - although we were at St. A’s and Fr. Mark celebrated. It was a moving and powerful experience for our family.

Hey you….how are you doing? You’ve been pretty quiet and now I’m reading that you are still sick. We’re praying for you, girly!

    Hugs,
    Jill

    Thanks for the prayers!
Between being sick, getting minutely better, then getting worse again; the mind-staggering fatigue; the continuing hearing loss; work; and zealously watching the Olympics — I haven’t had much time to post. Odd. I’m never quiet. :)

So, despite the fact that most days I feel nearly dead; I signed up to run in a 10K. Why? Well, obviously to annoy Fr. JJ, although he hasn’t heard about it yet. I’m sure the smackings will start as soon as he does…. :)

Got a spare hockey goalie uniform I can borrow? :)
