Since Kasia brought up her bad dream, I figured that I might as well post about the one that I had last week, you know, to keep her company. :)
Here I was at church, and someone comes up to me and says:
“Fr. J.J. has left.”
“What do you mean he’s left?!?”
“Well, you did know that he was only a temporary pastor, didn’t you?”
“What?!? No! No one told me that! Aaaah!”
“Don’t worry, we’ll find you another one.”
“No! Not again!”
Apparently, in my head, I’m thinking that pastors come with a 6 month term….
Other things that shouldn’t be said to parishioners:
“Fr. Stanley has gone to a better place.”
“WHAT?!?!? He died?!?!?!?”
“No, no — he’s on vacation.”
Yeah, that last one, wasn’t a dream — it was actually said that way. No wonder I’m a little Mendeled.

WHOOO-boy! Someone definitely wasn’t thinking straight when they said that about Fr. Stanley!!! :-)
Whaddaya mean “Mendeled”? I thought Mendel was the guy who came up with genetic theory as we know it…
For all I loved (and still love) Fr. John, I will cry really, really hard when Fr. JJ does have to leave. Hopefully it’s not for a long, long time!!!

I just wonder….
We aren’t made to care about material possessions, so we aren’t supposed to cling to them.
BUT…
We *are* made for relationships with people.
SO…
Is it okay to cling to people?

Okay, yes and no. Seth got me this computer game once called, I think, Galapagos Island. You controlled this little digidigi (like a metal bug, cute though) named Mendel. I don’t remember the object of the game, but I know it was like a maze or a puzzle or something and you had to get Mendel from one point to another. Say you had him go down a hall and he got killed, then the next time you would have him go down the hall, he would be scared and wouldn’t want to go down the hall. Kill him too many times and he would absolutely refuse to go down that hall.
Kind of like aversion training.
